Explaining the project status to District Collector D. Amoy Kumar and Minister for Education G. Jagadish Reddy, irrigation officials stated that laying of the total 2190.26 km pipeline was completed in the district.

According to figures submitted by them, of the total 1,139 Overhead Service Reservoirs built in the district, nearly 70% of the tanks are connected with pipeline. And work involving some 375 tanks is ongoing.

Taking stock, Mr. Reddy held separate reviews, one pertaining to grid works and the other intra-village works, and instructed officials to expedite completion of works while ensuring work quality. Strict action would be initiated against contractors and officials, if found delaying work or not conforming to quality standards, he cautioned.
