Rahul resignation: Allahabad Congress worker, supporters seek permission to die from President

ALLAHABAD: A day after Rahul Gandhi announced his resignation as Congress president in a public letter owning responsibility for the party’s defeat in recently concluded Lok Sabha polls, a youth Congress leader along with his supporters from Sangam city has sought permission to end their lives from the President of the India claiming that the people of the country had rejected the leader who wanted to take ideologies and values of Mahatma Gandhi forward and we don’t find any reason to live more.
A delegation of youth congress workers led by Haseeb Ahmad on Thursday submitted letter to ACM addressed to President of India seeking the permission for euthanasia.
Talking to TOI, Haseeb said "Congress workers were extremely shocked over the resignation of Rahul Gandhi who had announced his resignation following the defeat of the party in the recently held parliamentary polls". He said "lakhs of party workers across the country were shocked over Rahul’s move and were finding themselves in a catch 22 situation".

Haseeb was of the view that thousands of party workers from Allahabad itself – which is known as the Karambhoomi and Janambhoomi of Nehrus and Gandhis – were stunned as we could not image the party leadership without Gandhis.
He, however, said "It was only Rahul Gandhi who was promoting the ideologies and values of Gandhi and Nehru but people of the country had rejected him."

Haseeb said, "party had contested 2019 Parliamentary polls with full sincerity and honesty under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi. He also added that, "It was Rahul who had connected himself with each party worker during the polls and showed and taught us the right mode to connect with people."
Haseeb said, "Rahul was not only responsible for the debacle of party in recently concluded polls but responsibility of senior leaders should also be fixed in this regard". He claimed that Congress had lost election due to baseless comments and statements being issued by the senior leaders.
