Belagavi born artist receives international award

It was recently announced that artist Vikas Patnekar will be receiving the Most Outstanding Men of the Year — Special Category — award by the Los Hombres Más Destacados Del Ano. The artist, who was born in Belagavi and moved to Mumbai at the age of 18, is known for his paintings. His works have been displayed across the world including United Kingdom, USA and more. The award aims to recognise the works of men in different fields and categories.
Speaking about the award, Vikas told us, “It is an honour to be receiving an international award like this and I’m really happy about it. My hardwork has paid off.” Vikas even met Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, who congratulated him on the feat. Following their meeting, Vikas gifted him a painting. Vikas will be receiving the award on September 2 in Uruguay.
