AGRA: More than two weeks after a 14-year-old teenager was abducted along with his father’s brand new hatchback from Church Road near Pratappura roundabout of
Rakabganj police jurisdiction in Agra, police on Wednesday arrested an NCR-based
Hitler gang member who was allegedly involved in the crime.
According to police, Deepak Sirohi of Sahibabad, along with his gang leader Ajit alias Hitler (Meerut), Salim alias Bablu (Modi Nagar) and Pandit, had abducted LIC officer Dharmender Kumar Upadhaya’s son Arpit on June 17 evening at around 6:45pm. The victim, along with his elder brother Anshuman (19) and father, had came to Pratappura for installation of accessories in their new car.
After four hours, the gang drove the victim to a secluded place near Mudi under Khandauli police jurisdiction and left him, as they found heavy police checking on all the entry and exits of the city limit.
Vikas Kumar Jaiswal, circle officer of Sadar, said, “The gang had travelled from Meerut in another hatchback to Rakabganj where they had beer and were keeping tab on new vehicles. They spotted the two siblings Anshuman and Arpit alone in the new car and approached them. They got rid of Anshuman by telling him that his father Dharmender who was bargaining price for accessories of car had called him. Later, three men Ajit, Salim and Deepak over-powered Arpit and drove the car away.”
A police source involved in the investigation of the case said, “The first breakthrough in the case was when our surveillance team tabbed a phone (owned by Deepak Sirohi) which was switched on at a petrol station near Tedi baghia (Hathras-Aligarh highway), where the accused refuelled the hatchback. The trio were trying to contact their fourth accomplice who goes by a name ‘Pandit ji’. Pandit was travelling in another hatchback alone and had reached Hathras, waiting for the three to reach and head back Meerut together with new stolen car and the abducted teenage boy.”
“During interrogation, Deepak Sirohi claimed that his gang was active in NCR and goes by the name of Hitler gang. The gang leader Ajay alias Hitler has nearly 65 criminal cases against him. Soon all the remaining gang member would be arrested,” said Rakabganj station house officer Vivek Trivedi.
