A tussle broke out between a police constable attached to the Grand Bazar station and an India Reserve Battalion (IRB) personnel inside a bar on Rangapillai Street on Tuesday night.
According to police, the IRB constable, who was in plainclothes, had caused a ruckus with his friends in an inebriated state in the bar. The police constable, who came to the bar on the request of the management, confronted the IRB personnel, eventually resulting in a physical fight.
Police said no case was registered as they did not received any complaint. A senior police officer said the IRB personnel was let off after a warning.
