PATNA: State board students will have seven extra questions to choose from in the multiple-choice category in the intermediate and
matriculation board examinations from 2020.
“The objective-type papers carry 50% marks of a subject. This is the first time that we increased the number of questions from 35 to 42, however, students will have to attempt only 35 questions of their choice,” said Anand Kishor, the chairman of
Bihar School Examination Board, on Thursday.
Kishor made the announcement while releasing the board’s annual magazine ‘Vidya’ here at
BSEB office. “The step has been taken to make the examinations more student-friendly,” he said.
Earlier, the board had reduced the higher-order thinking skills questions in objective-type and increased the number of questions asked in long-type questions.
Kishore also announced that spot admissions in higher secondary classes will begin from July 8. “Candidates who wish to take admission in Class XI may visit the higher secondary schools and inter-colleges between July 8 and July 10 to submit the application form to the institutes,” he said.
The board will release the list of institutes and number of seats left in each stream (science, commerce and arts) across the state for the session 2019-21 by July 7 on www.ofssbihar.in.
The list of selected candidates for spot admission will be released on July 11 and the admissions will take place between July 12 and July 15.
According to latest data provided by the board, 9.45 lakh students have already taken admission in Class XI in 3,339 educational institutes on the basis of first and second merit lists issued in in June. Around 25,000 candidates so far took admission based on third merit list.
