The Customs Air Intelligence Unit on Thursday seized 600 gm of gold from three air passengers at the international airport here.
Vinoth Kumar, Saravana Kumar and Jafarullah, all from Tiruchi, arrived here from Kuala Lumpur by Malindo Airlines flight when Unit officers detained them on suspicion.
Airport sources said 12 small pieces of 24 karat gold were found concealed in secret pockets in the trousers of the three passengers. The smuggled gold pieces valued at ₹ 20.90 lakh were seized. Further investigation is on.
