Gauri Lankesh murder: Rahul Gandhi to appear in court over defamation case by RSS

A case was filed against Rahul Gandhi in 2017 by a RSS worker, Dhrutiman Joshi for allegedly linking journalist Gauri Lankesh's killing with the BJP-RSS ideology. Rahul Gandhi is likely to appear in court on Thursday morning regarding the same. Dhrutiman Joshi, a lawyer and RSS worker said, “Rahul Gandhi will appear before Mazgaon Court today in connection with a criminal defamation case that was filed against him in 2017 by me, for saying that journalist Gauri Lankesh was killed because she spoke against RSS.” He added, “Summons were also issued in February. Since he was busy with elections then he was given exemption by court. I had also filed complaint against CPM leader Sitaram Yechury for similar statement and he will also be summoned tomorrow.”
