Nearly 70 people were injured after a wall collapsed at Malad East. While 15 have been discharged from the hospital, few of the injured are still recovering. A 22-year-old Sujata Kevat, who suffered hip dislocation, has been recommended for bed rest for at least four weeks.

Suman Kevat, Sujata's sister, luckily escaped the tragic incident as she was on a night shift duty on that night. Her family has been searching for their belongings and making rounds at the hospital.

According to Suman, their entire house collapsed. Her family members were shifted to their relative's house. Elaborating her sister's condition, Suman said, "The doctors have recommended her to not move and to be on complete bed rest for four weeks at least. Other members of my family have suffered minor injuries but are not admitted in the hospital."

Earlier, the doctors suggested a surgery for hip relocation when she was admitted in the HBT Trauma Care Municipal Hospital. Similar to Sujata, few more injured are admitted in various municipal hospitals.

In another case, Shital Sharma, who lost two members of her family – father and a brother – has been praying for the betterment of her mother and elder brother, who are admitted in Shatabdi Hospital.

As a nurse, Shital too was on night duty on the day of the incident. Sharma along with her relatives and other residents were preparing for the last rites of her father and her brother. She said, "We have been staying in this house for more than 20 years. And now, besides a tarpaulin as a shed, there is nothing left to call it my house."
