As Mumbai was battled severe rainfall for days, Delhi watched in jealousy only to receive some respite on Thursday. Finally the rain gods had mercy on the parched Capital that saw temperatures soaring to a record high of 48 degrees Celsius in the peak of summer.
As the skies turned grey across Delhi, Gurgaon and Noida regions, Delhi residents couldn't contain their glee and erupted on social media to share videos and images of the brief spells of rain and dark clouds.
Delhi and adjoining areas in Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh is expected to receive more rainfall in the coming hours along with thunderstorm.
Delhi weather will remain pleasant for a few more days till July 8-9 with a cloud cover and intermittent light showers.
Social media is now rejoicing. Here are some of the choicest reactions Delhiites shared on Thursday:
Coolness in the air, thunder in the distance, the barest smattering of rain drops. The monsoon appears to be arriving in Delhi at long last, not with a bang but a whimper pic.twitter.com/DUiZQsPSPt
