The Aluva Range Excise squad on Wednesday arrested a person allegedly engaged in the sale of ganja near Aluva market, private bus stand and railway station.
The arrested man was identified as Akhil, 21, of Karumalloor. Excise sleuths also seized from him 65-odd grams of ganja kept in 25 small covers. He was picked up following a tip-off from near a textiles shop in Aluva town. According to excise, apart from narcotic cases, he had also many criminal cases, including assault and robbery, charged against him. He allegedly sold ganja among migrant workers at the market and nearby areas.
