Vijayawada: Two arrested for sexually exploiting minor girl

VIJAYAWADA: Two youths were arrested for allegedly raping a minor girl in Hart Pet near Vijayawada railway station under SN Puram police station limits on Tuesday. According to Satyanarayanapuram police, they received a complaint from the girl’s father that two of his relatives had sexually exploited his daughter.
Soon, cops conducted an investigation and found that the two accused had lured the girl after her father left for work and exploited her. The girl complained of stomach pain on Monday and she was taken to a private hospital where the doctors confirmed that she was raped.
Cops said that the girl belonged to a poor family and two years ago, she had to stop her studies after her mother passed away. The girl stays at home and takes care of her father who is a carpenter.
A team was formed by the police and the accused were traced to Hart Pet where they were arrested.
Cops said that the accused had confessed to the crime and that a case under relevant sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012 was registered at SN Puram police station. The accused were produced before court which remanded them to judicial custody.
