Pope Francis will be receiving Russian president Vladimir Putin for an audience on July 4. The meeting will be held at the Vatican City, where the two leaders will be meeting for the third time. The last time Pope Francis received Putin, was in 2015, to urge all parties involved in the Ukraine conflict to make sincere efforts towards peace. The first time Francis had met Putin in 2013, as the Roman Catholic Church sought to better ties with the Russian Orthodox Church.
