GUNTUR: Divisional railway manager (DRM) SS Srinivas has vowed to complete all the ongoing developmental works in the division within two years.
Srinivas, a 1990-batch IRPS officer, assumed charge in Guntur as DRM on Tuesday. The outgoing DRM VG Bhooma handed over the charge to the new DRM.
After reviewing the progress of the ongoing projects with the senior officials on Wednesday, Srinivas said that completing the projects on time is very crucial to achieve better revenues. He asked the officials to take measures that were required to finish the works as per the schedule.
Srinivas said that passenger amenities should also be given high priority. He said that achieving punctuality in operating the trains is another area to be focused.
Srinivas was recently posted as officer on special duty (OSD) to the newly-created South Coastal Zone (SCZ) with Visakhapatnam headquarters. He was tasked with reorganisation of the staff between two different zones to create a new zone.

Within six months, Srinivas was posted as DRM in Guntur. Interestingly, the Railway Board, which has been giving preference to personnel wing top officials to head DRM post in Guntur has once again spared the coveted job to an IRPS officer.
Srinivas, who did MBA from Pondicherry University, handled foreign assignments in Toronto, Canada, Washington DC, Singapore and Malaysia. He had also worked as chief personnel officer in the zonal headquarters in Secunderabad.
