AMBALA: A couple reportedly consumed some poisonous substances in
Naraingarh town of Ambala district in the afternoon on Tuesday. They have been identified as
Ashok Kumar, 24 of Sadhaura in Yamunanagar district and Sanjida, 22, of
Sarawan village in Yamunanagar district. The wife dies while the husband's condition is said to be critical.
As per the information, the couple had solemnized love marriage nearly a year ago against the will of their parents as they belonged to different communities and some days ago they started living independently near
Panjlasa Chowk in Naraingarh town of Ambala.
According to the sources, the couple had some heated arguments among themselves due to some unknown reasons following which they consumed the poisonous substance.
Both were spotted lying in an unconscious condition on the road near
Naraingarh Civil Hospital by an Ambulance driver Dinesh, who immediately rushed them to local hospital from where they were referred to Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh.
Doctors at the Naraingarh hospital told that the couple had consumed some poisonous substance, as their condition was critical they were immediately referred to Chandigarh after the primary treatment.
The matter was reported to the district police following which assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Ashok Kumar was rushed to Chandigarh hospital for further inspection into this case.
Ambulance driver Dinesh is also being applauded by the local residents for his immediate action and rushing the couple to the nearest hospital.
Investigation officer ASI Ashok Kumar said, “The couple was found lying unconsciously on a road in Naraingarh after which they were taken to the local hospital from where the doctors referred them to Chandigarh. Both had married nearly one year ago against the will of their parents and some days ago they started living independently in Naraingarh. As per the update from the Chandigarh, Sanjida could not survive while her husband Ashok’s condition is also critical. We have given the information to their family members and further proceedings will be conducted as per their statements.”
