Rajya Sabha members support bill to extend reconstitution period of Homoeopathy council
Cutting across party lines, Rajya Sabha Members Tuesday supported a bill seeking to extend the period for reconstitution of the Central Council for Homoeopathy (CCH) from the existing one year to two years.
The Bill was passed by the Lok Sabha last week.The Homoeopathy Central Council (Amendment) Bill 2019 moved by Ayush minister Shripad Naik will replace the ordinance issued in this regard by the previous government.
The bill will enable the government to extend the tenure of the Board of Governors in the council for a further period of one year with effect from May 17, 2019.
Earlier a statutory resolution was moved by CPM member. Binoy Viswam to disapprove Homoeopathy Central Council (Amendment) Ordinance, 2019 promulgated on March 2, 2019.
