Maiden WC fifty for Tom Latham
Tom Latham scores his maiden World Cup century. Maybe this is the only positive the Kiwis can take from this match. Latham had not come close to live up to his potential in the previous games. Latham coming back into the form is a big boost for New Zealand ahead of the semi-finals. NZ - 153/6 in 37 overs
FOUR!
Welcome boundary for New Zealand after a long wait for 9 overs. Tom Latham is nearing his maiden World Cup half-century. Latham has scored more runs in this innings than he did in the previous six matches combined. NZ - 145/6 in 33.5 overs
No boundaries
More than seven overs have passed and New Zealand batsmen have not been able to find a single boundary. Wickets falling at regular intervals have not helped their run chase. Tom Latham has slowed down as well. NZ - 136/6 in 32 overs
WICKET!
This run chase keeps getting harder and harder for New Zealand. Colin de Grandhomme goes for a big shot after playing a series of dot balls. An absolute loosener from Ben Stokes and Grandhomme hit it straight to the deep square leg fielder Joe Root. He departs for 3 from 13 deliveries. ENG - 128/6 in 28.1 overs

Tom Latham in fine touch
For the first time in this World Cup, Tom Latham looks in fine touch. He had 41 runs from 6 games before this match. He is already scoring more than run-a-ball. If he gets going, New Zealand have a chance to chase down this total. James Neesham is batting well too, not eating up too many deliveries. Latham has scored 25 runs from 20 balls already, his highest in the tournament. NZ - 108/4 in 23 overs
RUN OUT!
Ross Taylor gets run out trying to convert a single into double. New Zealand are in deep trouble in this run chase with just six wickets in hand and 237 more runs to score. NZ - 69/4 in 16.4 overs
Unlucky dismissal
Kane Williamson gets out in the unluckiest way possible. Ross Taylor hits Mark Wood's delivery down the ground and it brushes the bowler's fingers on the follow-through. Williamson gets out for 27. New Zealand fans will pin their hopes on Ross Taylor now. NZ - 61/3 in 15.1 overs
Similar run chase
Parallels can be drawn between this match and India vs England. England had a terrific opening partnership, lost wickets in the middle and posted a total in excess of 300. New Zealand lost one more wicket than India but they are in a similar position as India while chasing the target. The run chase depends on this pair. Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor need to stitch a partnership in this run chase. NZ - 37/2 in 10 overs
FOUR!
Cheeky shot from Williamson as he uses the pace and guides the ball between the wicketkeeper and the second slip fielder. NZ - 20/2 in 7 overs
Buttler magic
Jos Buttler dives to his left and takes a sensational catch to dismiss Martin Guptill early in the innings. Once again, New Zealand openers have disappointed. Jofra Archer gets his first wicket of the match. NZ - 14/2 in 5.2 overs
Perfect start for England
First over the day produces a wicket for England. New Zealand's opening woes continue. Henry Nicholls is caught on the pad by Chris Woakes. Batsmen discussed the possibility of going for a review but time ran out on them. The skies get a little darker over Pakistan too.
Southee's economical last over
Tim Southee bowled yorker after yorker in the final over of England's innings. Just 6 runs from the last over. England have posted 305/8 n 50 overs. A good total given the pitch conditions as it appears to be slowing down. New Zealand need their openers to delivery chasing a target of 306.
Southee's first WC 2019 wicket
Tim Southee bowls well in the last over. After two singles off the first two balls, he knocks over Adil Rashid's stumps with a yorker. Rashid departs for 16 off 12 deliveries. ENG - 301/8 in 49.3 overs
Plunkett, Rashid take on Henry
Liam Plunkett, Adil Rashid's unorthodox hitting helps England add 13 runs to the total in the penultimate over. Both batsmen scored one boundary each in the over. England bat deep and this is a fine example of it. ENG - 299/7 in 49 overs
Santner's stunner ends Morgan's innings

Chris Woakes disappoints

Stokes gives in to pressure
Ben Stokes had not scored a single boundary since he came to bat. The pressure was mounting on the English all-rounder and he tried to take on Mitchell Santner. An easy catch for the long on fielder. Stokes scored just 11 runs from 27 deliveries. ENG - 248/5 in 42 overs
Stokes struggling
Ben Stokes struggling to rotate the strike. He was in fine form against India scoring a half-century. He has faced 17 deliveries so far and scored just 5 runs. The run rate has gone below 6 runs per over after a long time. ENG - 232/4 in 39 overs
Southee's bad run continues
Tim Southee has been ineffective against England batsmen. They have easily scored against him. Eoin Morgan hits him for two boundaries despite the pressure of two quick wickets. ENG - 226/4 in 36 overs
Another soft dismissal
Jos Buttler gifts his wicket to New Zealand. England lose their fourth wicket, Buttler out for 11. Two new batsmen at the crease now. Eoin Morgan and Ben Stokes are now responsible to take England to a convincing total. ENG - 214/4 in 34.2 overs
Bairstow gone
Matt Henry gets the prized wicket of Jonny Bairstow shortly after he completed his century. Bairstow inside edges it on to his stumps. He departs for 106 from 99 deliveries. ENG - 206/3 in 31.4 overs
200 up for England
England go past 200 in the 31st over. Interestingly, the team management has trusted Jos Buttler ahead of skipper Eoin Morgan and Ben Stokes. Buttler got out after a cameo against India in the death overs. This time, they have trusted Buttler to do the big hitting and pile on runs after a terrific start. He gets off the mark with a boundary. ENG - 200/2 in 31 overs
Root wastes DRS
Joe Root straight away asked for a review after being given out by the umpire. Root did not seem to agree that he had edged the ball to the wicketkeeper. The snick-o-meter showed otherwise. He departs for 24. Also, he completes his 500 runs in World Cup. ENG - 194/2 in 30.1 overs
Hundred for Bairstow
England opener Jonny Bairstow hits his second World Cup century on the trot. He reaches the three figures in 95 deliveries. First maximum of the innings
Jonny Bairstow moves into the 90s with a maximum over Tim Southee's head. New Zealand bowlers are desperately looking for wickets. ENG - 182/1 in 28 overs
At halfway stage
England are 161 for 1 in 25 overs. The partnership between Jonny Bairstow and Joe Root is going run-a-ball. If England don't lose quick wickets as they did against India in the middle overs, they are likely to post at least 350 on the board.
150 up for England
Jonny Bairstow is still going strong despite Jason Roy's wicket. He is heading towards another century in this World Cup. On the other hand, Joe Root is playing himself in. England in a commanding position against the Kiwis. ENG - 156/1 in 24 overs
Soft dismissal

Both openers score half-century
Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow get to their respective half-centuries in the 17th over. England are on course for another huge total. Jason Roy's return has boosted their chances in this World Cup. Jonny Bairstow is a different batsman in Roy's presence. ENG - 111/0 in 17 overs
Kiwis stop boundaries
Another single-run over. This time Matt Henry bowls a good line and length, not letting the England openers dominate. New Zealand need more of those to force an aerial shot out of the two. ENG - 68/0 in 11 overs
Boult's comeback
Just a single from Trent Boult's fifth over of the spell. England are in a solid position after the first powerplay overs. ENG - 67/0 in 10 overs
50 up for England
In just 38 deliveries, England get past the 50-run mark. Jonny Bairstow and Jason Roy seem to have picked off right where they left. The openers are looking as dangerous as ever. If New Zealand don't get the breakthrough now, they will be looking at a total in excess of 300 at least. Five runs from Matt Henry's first over. ENG - 53/0 in 7 overs
