BENGALURU: A youth who shoved his friend citing bad breath was stabbed late Sunday night in Mavalli near Kalasipalyam. The man’s younger brother, who rushed to his help, too was attacked by the friend.
Shoaib Pasha, 23 and Shahid Pasha, 21, residents of Wilson Garden, were treated at a private hospital and are out of danger.
Kalasipalyam police said they arrested Nabi alias Balli, a resident of Siddapura and an employee at an automobile accessories shop, for stabbing the brothers.

According to police, the incident took place around 11.45pm, when Shoaib was riding his bike on LBF Road, opposite Mavalli Masjid Road. Shoaib noticed that Nabi, his friend, stopped his bike to wish him. “Both greeted each other. Nabi tried to hug Shoib, who pushed him away due to his bad breath. Nabi got angry over Shoaib’s gesture and abused him. This led to heated arguments and Nabi whipped out a knife and stabbed Shoaib in the stomach. Shoaib called his brother Shahid for help, who rushed to the spot within a few minutes. Nabi stabbed Shahid too before fleeing the spot,” said police.
Cops have registered a case of attempt to murder under Section 307 of IPC based on a complaint from Shoaib. They arrested Nabi on Tuesday and produced him before court, which remanded him in judicial custody.
