Malik Samarawickrama, the Minister of Development Strategies and International Trade led the Sri Lankan delegation assisted by Mangala Yapa, chairman of the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka and W A D S Gunasinghe, additional secretary to the Ministry of Development Strategies and International Trade.
The German delegation was led by Jorn Rohde, the ambassador of Germany in Sri Lanka who was assisted by Andreas Hergenroether, chief delegate delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Sri Lanka (AHK).
Germany is an important trading partner for Sri Lanka with a volume of trade totaling 1.2 billion Euros.
Minister Samarawickrama praised Germany for establishing a culture of promptness, exactness and high standards of integrity.
The minister added that on the Sri Lankan side, institutions like BOI and EDB are making a strong effort for facilitating business and eliminate bottle-necks faced by investors and exporters.
Four tourism road shows will be held in Berlin, Stuttgart and other German cities.
