AHMEDABAD: Three teenage boys fled away from a madrassa in Jamalpur and got
to Mumbai on Sunday, but were
forced to return due to heavy rains in the country's commercial capital.
An accountant with the madrassa, Asif Mansuri, said that the three boys, Mohammed Nabeel (14), Amir Shaikh (14) and Abu Sufiyan Shaikh (15), all residents of Danilimda, had
run away and reached Mumbai.
"When we asked them why they had run away, they told us that they wanted to have fun in Mumbai so they decided to run away. They boarded a train and reached Mumbai on Monday. When they got there, they found that heavy rain had disrupted all transportation and they couldn't roam about there and were stuck at the railway station," said Mansuri. They then decided to return on Sunday night and reached Ahmedabad on Monday morning, he said. "The madrassa authorities took punitive actions against them, cancelling their admissions, as they shown indiscipline," he said.
