‘Monsoon may hit Rajasthan via Hadauti region in next 48 hours’

JAIPUR: Here is good news for the parched state. South-west monsoon is likely to enter the state in the next 48 hours and would enter through Kota, Jhalawar and Baran also known as ‘Hadauti region’ of the state. Its widespread activity is likely to be witnessed from July 10 onwards as per the Jaipur Met office.
Jaipur Met office said that the conditions are conducive for the onset of monsoon in the next couple of days. “As per the bifurcation in terms of weather, Rajasthan is divided into two parts – eastern and western. The western part comprises of 10 districts while eastern part comprises of 23 districts. It is likely that the monsoon will enter from Kota, Jhalawar and Baran which is under the eastern part of the state in the next few days,” said Shiv Ganesh, director, Jaipur Met office on Monday.
Pre-monsoon showers continued in the state for the third consecutive day on Monday when several places in the state witnessed moderate to heavy showers.
Bakani (Jhalawar) received a rainfall of 100mm which was the highest in the state. Likewise, several places in eastern Rajasthan including the districts of Kota, Jhalawar, Baran and Dausa witnessed a rainfall varying from 60 mm to 10 mm. However, western Rajasthan and its districts continued to remain dry.
Jaipurities witnessed a maximum temperature of 41 degree Celsius accompanied with 73 per cent humidity that affected normal life. In the evening, scattered rainfall was witnessed in many portions of the city which guided the mercury to take a dip. Since it was scattered rainfall, it was confined to a few places while most of the parts in the city remained parched.

Meanwhile, Churu remained hottest in the state where a maximum temperature of 44 degree Celsius was recorded. In the absence of rains, majority of places witnessed maximum temperatures on and above 40 degree Celsius except Kota where a maximum temperature of 35.1 degree Celsius was recorded.
In its forecast, Jaipur Met office said mild to moderate showers would continue at many places in the state in the next 24 hours.
