Greater Noida: The distribution of ‘red cards’ to potential harassers, as part of the ‘anti-Romeo’ drive by
Noida police, failed to take off on Monday, the day of its launch.
‘Anti-Romeo’ squad officials from several police stations were still in the process of visiting schools and colleges in Noida and
Greater Noida to collect details of vulnerable spots identified by girls.
Cops are yet to map these spots to be able to increase patrolling in those places. Police, however, claimed to have distributed the
feedback forms in more than 75 schools under 21 police stations of the district. Women were told about the UP government’s initiatives like the 1090 helpline as well.
“The students were asked how much they knew about the initiatives and were requested to fill the feedback forms which they were given to identify the spots where they faced
harassment by men,” said Vaibhav Krishna, SSP (Gautam Budh Nagar).
