Madurai man found dead in toilet of Kanyakumari Express train

MADURAI: A tourist guide from Madurai was found dead the toilet of Chennai – Kanyakumari Express train on Tuesday morning.
The deceased has been identified as T Kannan, 50, of South Masi Street in Madurai.
Kannan, his wife and three children visited a temple in Kancheepuram. On Monday evening, they boarded the Kanyakumari Express from Chengalpet railway station. He boarded an unreserved compartment while his family travelled in another compartment.
His wife and children got down at Madurai shortly after midnight.
Around 5am on Tuesday, passengers found him lying unconscious in the train’s toilet. They tried to wake him up. But he was motionless. They alerted the Valliyoor station master.

Since the train had crossed the station, railway authorities and Railway Protection Force personnel at the Nagercoil Junction were alerted. When the train reached Nagercoil Junction, officials checked him and confirmed that he was dead.
The body sent to the Kanyakumari Government Medical College and Hospital.
