Update from Western Railway: Last year, the maximum rainfall at Nallasopara in 72 hours was about 550 mm. This year, the rainfall has crossed 1,000 mm in last 72-75 hours. Water level is above 200 mm -- above the rail level.
Update from the Central Railway: Harbour line trains are going up to Bandra only. Not up to Goregaon as announced earlier.

13 people died as the retaining wall of a few hutments built on a hill slope in Kurar Village collapsed. "Fire Brigade & NDRF rushed to the spot. People were rescued & have been admitted at the Shatabdi hospital," the MCGM said in a statement.
"WR suburban services are running between Churchgate and Virar. Frequency may be less between Vasai Road and Virar due to receipt of out station trains," the Western Railway tweeted in a status update as of 5.50 am.

Welcome to the continuing coverage of the Mumbai rains. The third day of a torrential downpour has seen several parts of the city being several feet under water, even as road, rail and air traffic is shut while schools and colleges have been declared closed by the government.

In coming 4-5 days, monsoon will be vigorous in Maharashtra, especially northern parts of the state, it will also be active in the southern parts of the state. Konkan Goa will get widespread rain during these 5 days.
