Terrifying footage has emerged of the harrowing moment a four-year-old boy fell down the side of the train.
The little boy was with a woman who was cradling a baby and pushing a pram on the platform of Sydenham station, in Sydney's inner-west.
As the doors of the train opened the boy began to walk forward while clapping his hands.

Other commuters stepped off the train and the boy pushed his way forward - before disappearing between the train and the platform.
The woman rushed forward and other passengers were screaming 'stop' to the train staff to make them aware of what was going on.
One man leaned over and reached down to pull the boy up.
He was unharmed during the ordeal, Nine News reported.
