Three men have been arrested in Western Australia in relation to the alleged sexual assault of a 17-year-old girl on the Gold Coast last week.

The trio will appear in a WA court on Tuesday when police will apply to extradite them to Queensland to potentially face charges.

Australian Federal Police officers made the arrests on Monday off the back of a warrant from Queensland detectives.

A Queensland Police Service spokesman said on Tuesday no further arrests were expected.

Police could not go into more detail regarding the allegation for fear of identifying the victim.
