Huawei Mate 30 Pro alleged back panel shows off circular camera design

“Huawei Mate 30 Pro is expected to feature 90Hz refresh rate, Kirin 985 SoC, and pack quad rear cameras”

Huawei is currently busy working on the Mate 30 series that is due to launch later this year, likely sometime in October. It is already speculated the Mate 30 Pro might feature 90Hz AMOLED screen like the OnePlus 7 Pro and pack quad rear cameras. Now, the rear glass panel of the handset has surfaced online on Weibo, revealing the cutout for a circular camera module. This means Huawei could be giving a complete design overhaul from the Mate 20 series’s square matrix. It also shows Leica branding, suggesting the Chinese brand will be continuing their partnership for cameras.

While it isn’t clear how many sensors the circular module would carry, speculations are rife that the Mate 30 Pro will have quad sensors including an additional ToF lens for depth. Like the P30 Pro, it could arrive with 10x optical zooming and other camera enhancements. While Huawei seems to be doing away the square design, Apple and Google are about to embrace the design for their upcoming Pixel 4 and iPhone XI series flagships later this year.

Previous rumours suggest the Mate 30 Pro could be powered by the 7nm Kirin 985 SoC and Barong 5000 5G baseband chip, AMOLED display, an in-display fingerprint sensor for biometric security, and pack Galaxy S10+ like punch-hole design with dual-selfie cameras on the left spine. Unfortunately, nothing else is known about the Mate 30 Pro or the standard Mate 30 at this stage, but with the launch still months away, we should come across more details going forward.
