Free State police are investigating after they found the charred bodies of two teen brothers inside their home in a Thabong informal settlement on Saturday.

Circumstances surrounding the incident which lead to the death of Thabang Mahlatsi, 18, and Elvis Mahlatsi, 13, are not yet known.

"One of the neighbours alleges that they only heard a noise from outside and it was later discovered that the shack was burning, and fire personnel were called to the scene," Sergeant Mamello Mokhuoane said in a statement on Monday.
