Will expose corruption in Kaleshwaram project: Congress

HYDERABAD: The Congress has decided to expose the ‘corruption in Kaleshwaram project’ by the ruling TRS to the people as it feels it is one of the best bet to take on the TRS and show BJP its place in Telangana.
With the BJP threatening to emerge as an alternative to the Congress in the state after winning four Lok Sabha seats as against three by the Congress, senior Congress leaders have also decided to take up the issue of ‘attacks on Congress leaders by the TRS and police zulum’ by launching ‘jail bharo andolan’.
The Congress is of the view that wooing voters with programmes such as padayatra and pamphlet distribution would also revive the party's fortunes in the state not only in the ensuing municipal polls but also in the next assembly polls.
The dates and strategy to launch the padayatra, jail bharo andolan, distribution of pamphlets and protest programmes are yet to be finalised.
The Congress will launch a padayatra from Tummidihatti point of Kaleshwaram project and make power-point presentations and distribute pamphlets to the people exposing the alleged corruption by KCR’s family in redesigning the project. A team of Congress leaders along with retired irrigation officials will also study the project and come out with a report on the corruption and how CM KCR redesigned it and allegedly escalated the project cost to garner commissions,” a Congress leader alleged.
