Kamal Nath has been in New Delhi since Saturday evening and is expected to return here on Tuesday.
“Announcement of the new
Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president could be within a day or two,” a senior Congress leader said.
Presently, chief minister Kamal Nath holds dual responsibility of state Congress president while also heading the government. Before leaving for New Delhi, the chief minister had said, “There is going to be a new state PCC chief. The party will have to fight the BJP’s election machinery and for that the Congress will have to construct its own organization. We have to build our organization in a new perspective.”

Rahul Gandhi on Monday at the meeting of Congress chief ministers held in New Delhi. Sources said that a meeting for selection of new PCC president was also held on Sunday and names of several leaders including few ministers was discussed.
