GURUGRAM: A 20-year-old man was found dead in a forest area near Gadoli Khurd on Saturday evening by a police team which rushed to the spot after receiving the information.
Police said Pankaj had suffered severe injuries on his head, and his neck had strangulation marks.
According to police, Pankaj’s family claimed he had gone for his friend Vinay’s birthday
party on Thursday evening, but never returned home.
His father Baldev, in his police complaint, alleged Pankaj had left after receiving a phone call from his
friends Vinay, Sanju and Rohit, and they murdered him. He had taken his scooty and dropped his relative Kamlesh, with whom he had been staying in the city, on the way. However, when he did not return that night, Kamlesh got in touch with Pankaj’s father Baldev. They then approached police and filed a complaint.
Later on Saturday, police found out that the body they got in the forest area was of Pankaj. Even though Baldev said he wasn’t aware of any motives behind his son’s
murder, a case was registered against the three friends on his complaint.
“After dropping Kamlesh at her relative’s house, Pankaj had come home to meet us. He also dropped his mother to his maternal uncle’s home that day. That was the last time we saw him,” Baldev told police.
“I request the police to ensure justice and punish the people who have killed my son,” he added.
“A case has been registered under sections 302 (murder), 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence) and 34 of the IPC, and an investigation is on,” said police spokesperson.
However, no arrest has been made yet in the case, and all the three suspects are absconding.
The post-mortem report suggested that Pankaj was beaten to death. The doctors also found fingerprints of multiple people on his neck, indicating that he was strangled.
The body was handed over to his family on Sunday. Pankaj was a resident of Chhapra, Bihar, and lived with his relative Kamlesh in Sector 10.
He used to run errands for Kamlesh and her family and in turn, they provided him with shelter and food. Baldev, on the other hand, worked for a private firm in the city.
