Vadodara: A strange controversy surfaced on M S University campus on Monday when a student aspiring to take admission in Faculty of Law had to reappear for an entrance test for which he had already appeared last month.
The peculiar case came to light when a students’ group reached university head office questioning the university officials on why they were conducting entrance test for a single student for second time.
After the students’ group created quite a ruckus, the university officials clarified that the student, who had appeared for entrance test for admission in LLB programme offered by Faculty of Law last month, was called as his OMR sheet had gone missing during assessment.
Around 800 students had appeared for the entrance test for LLB programme. “Unfortunately, one OMR sheet was found missing because of which the entire result was withheld. We will be taking strict action against the defaulter teacher, whose lapse has led to this situation,” said MSU’s in-charge registrar N K Ojha.
“To ensure that there is no injustice to this student, we had called the student at the head office. We gave him two hours and provided him the same OMR sheet,” said Ojha, adding that the student was called for document verification and later asked to appear for the test.
“We will also be ascertaining the role of teachers who were present during the entrance test,” said Ojha.
