Thiruvananthapuram: The city police have expanded their probe into the missing case of a
German tourist to other states.
Lisa Wiesse (31), who arrived in the state capital three months ago, has gone missing ever since.
The special police team led by Valiyathura station house officer Sajad S has dispatched small teams to different destinations within and outside the state. The police are also not ruling out the possibility of the woman leaving the country even though it was confirmed that she did not leave via Trivandrum International Airport.
The police would soon issue a look-out circular at all airports and sea ports across the country.
“We have already checked all major tourist destinations and pilgrim centers across Thiruvanthapuram, Kollam and Pathanamthitta. We have also requested for assistance from international agencies,” said a senior police officer.
According to police, Weise arrived here along with a UK citizen identified as Muhammed Ali on March 7. She was planning to visit Mata Amritanandamayi’s Amritapuri Ashram. Though Ali had checked out from Kochi boarding a Dubai flight on March 15, Weise did not.
A man-missing case was registered at Valiyathura police station on Saturday after the German Consul here forwarded a complaint from Wiese’s mother to the state police chief. tnn
