NEW DELHI: Central Delhi’s Hauz Qazi has been on boil since last night after a brawl over parking a bike outside a temple snowballed into a full-fledged confrontation between two communities. Several people were injured in the ensuing stone-pelting and scuffle.
It all started with a fight between two individuals which turned nasty with a group of people barging into a temple and ransacking it. This was followed by a protest by locals who demanded action against the vandals.
On Monday morning, a large number of people from the other community gathered in the locality and indulged in stone-pelting on the protesters, that was followed by a scuffle between members of the two groups.

An NBT photographer, who was at the scene was also attacked in the melee as well. A huge police force was deployed and efforts were being made to bring the situation under control. Three FIRs have been registered by the cops.
The situation was tense till late evening as protests continued outside the temple. Shops in the area were shut and a heavy police deployment was maintained.
