Ludhiana: The Special Task Force (STF), Ludhiana range, arrested two drug peddlers with 600gm heroin from Tibba Road on Sunday evening
Nitin Kumar, 23, and Sagar Arora, 20 — both residents of Tibba Road — are addicts, who took to drug trade to fund their addiction, said cops.
Ludhiana range STF in-charge inspector Harbans Singh said, “On a tip-off, an STF team stopped two men near a cow shelter on Tibba Road. During checking, 600gm heroin was recovered from them. They were on way to deliver the contraband.”
During questioning, the two confessed to have been peddling drugs from the past two years. They procured heroin from a peddler in Amritsar, Sattu, to sell it in Ludhiana.
“While Nitin is unemployed, Sagar runs a lottery shop near Ludhiana bus stand. Sagar also used to sell drugs from his lottery shop,” the inspector added.
The two were produced before the court of duty magistrate on Sunday that remanded them in two-day police custody.
