Nanda Jichkar has suggested visiting delegates from Kongensberg,
Norway, to start a students exchange programme between Nagpur city and
Kongsberg.
The delegates from Kongsberg, including Irene Bjornes, principal of Culture School of Kongsberg city, and Elin Bjornes visited the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) and met Jichkar on Monday.
The motive behind the visit was to plan programmes in the field of education and culture between the two cities. Nagpur First, a social organization, had arranged the visit.
Jichkar said, “Meritorious students from NMC schools can visit Kongsberg and those from Kongsberg can visit the city through students exchange programme between the two cities. It will give an international exposure to students of NMC-run schools,” he said.
Bjornes appreciated the rich culture of Nagpur and also expressed satisfaction over developmental projects in the city.
Jichkar presented a bio-diversity book published by Smart City SPV Nagpur Smart and Sustainable City Development Corporation Limited (NSSCDCL) to Bjornes.
Corporator Sunil Agrawal, NSSCDCL chief executive officer Ramnath Sonwane, Vedeesh Sahajpal, Seema, Vedangini, Simran from Norway, representatives of Nagpur First, Jaiprakash Parekh, Aniket Jha and Rishi Saraf, and others were present.
Earlier, the delegates met Sonwane and learnt about developmental projects going on under Smart City project.
