MUMBAI: A man trying to board a moving train at Bhayander was saved from falling into the gap between the train and the platform on Friday.
Two alert Railway Police Force ( RPF) constables pulled away the commuter Anil Shahani (29) whose leg had slipped into the gap on platform number 6 at Bhayander railway station.
The Dadar-bound fast train was picking up speed when Shahani tried to board a second class compartment.
He tried to reach for the iron pole on the footboard of the train. He missed the pole and fell off. Just when he was to slip into the gap between the train and platform, constables Sanjay Singh and Mahendra Jathav ran towards him and pulled him onto the platform.

The incident was captured on a CCTV installed at the station.
Shahani, a Borivli resident, admitted that it was a mistake to try and get into a train that had picked up speed. Shahani, who sustained minor bruises in the fall was given first aid and was allowed to go.
