No intent to topple Kamal Nath govt, says MP BJP chief

BHOPAL: A day after Madhya Pradesh CM Kamal Nath dared BJP to topple his government, the saffron party on Sunday said it has no intention to destabilize the Congress government, “which will fall on its own”.
Making a scathing attack on the Nath government, BJP state president Rakesh Singh said Congress was crippled by intense lobbying and differences over issues related to cabinet expansion and appointment of a new state chief.

“Kamal Nath is facing pressure within the party after the debacle in the recent Lok Sabha elections. By naming BJP, he was trying to intimidate his own MLAs and ministers to overcome the differences in the party,” he said.
Demand for leadership change in Congress state unit after party’s rout in the recent LS polls has gathered momentum. “Nath’s statement is irrelevant as BJP had clarified its unwillingness to topple the Congress government. But, the CM’s statement is an attempt to mislead the public ,” Singh told TOI. On Saturday, Nath had said: “If BJP has guts, it should try and topple my government. Why is it resorting to frequent threats. Are they showing mercy on my government or what?”
