Maruti Suzuki reports 17% drop June sales

India’s largest passenger car maker Maruti Suzuki India (MSIL) on Monday said that it has sold a total of 1,11,014 units of passenger vehicles in June in the domestic market, down 17 per cent as compared with 1,34,036 units in June last year.

In the Mini segment (Alto, old WagonR), the company recorded a 36 per cent fall in sales as it sold 18,733 units during the month, as against 29,381 units in June 2018.

In the compact segment (like Swift, Baleno, Ignis, Dzire) too, MSIL reported a decline of 12 per cent year-on-year (YoY) to 62,897 units during last month as compared with 71,570 units in corresponding month last year.

In the utility vehicles segment (S-Cross, Ertiga, Vitara Brezza), the company sold 17,797 units in June as compared with 19,321 in June last year.
