In his first term, he had addressed the nation through this monthly programme in a series of 53 telecasts. The first programme was broadcasted on Oct 3, 2014. This radio programme acts as a mirror through which PM shares his personal views with the nation.

PM, Narendra Modi has focused on Emergency imposed on the country. He had highlighted that the resistance against the Emergency is not only limited to politics but also there is an outrage in the conscience of every citizen. During Emergency, the citizens feel that something which belongs to them is snatched away. He added that democracy is the heritage of our country and that is why, lack of it is felt by the countrymen.

The Lok Sabha Elections, 2019 is highlighted by PM, Narendra Modi. He said that India saw over 61 crore voters exercising their voting rights. Lakhs of teachers, officers and staff members worked day and night to make it possible. Around 20 lakh police personnel of various states discharged their duty to the earnest. There were around 10 lakh polling stations and more than 40 lakh Electronic Vending Machines (EVM) used in recent elections. He said that there is a record of 78 women Member of Parliaments today. Hence, it was a grand success.

Yoga too, made space in this radio programme. PM said, “that it makes citizens healthy that is required to build a society. The announcement of Prime Minister’s Awards for excellence in the promotion and development of yoga gives satisfaction to him”. This award would be bestowed on those organizations around the world which has significant and unique contributions in the promotion of yoga. The widespread celebration of Yoga took it to the doorstep of every common person.

The problem of water scarcity is also highlighted by the PM. He said that it had affected the whole country and only eight per cent of rainwater is harvested in the country. He wrote a letter to the Sarpanchs and Gram Pradhans to save and collect every drop of the rainwater across the country. Efforts are made at places such as Garhwal where women are working for rainwater harvesting, Telangana where water tanks are being constructed which has changed the lives of people. But there is a need for mass movement to combat this water scarcity problem.

PM has also entreated three requests to its citizens. PM has urged to make Water Conservation Campaign, a mass movement just like Swachh Bharat Campaign in his first request. And he has specifically requested the luminaries to lead promotion of water conservation through innovative campaigns. People associated with cultural organizations can conduct Kathas or Kirtans in their own fashion. He pleaded the countrymen to share as much traditional method of water conservation in his second request. He has urged the NGOs and everyone else associated in the area of water conservation in order to create an intensive database of individuals and organizations dedicated to water preservation in his third request.
