Fourth anniversary of Digital India

The fourth anniversary celebration of Department of Post’s ‘Digital India’ was held at the Head Post Office here on Monday. As part of the celebration, an awareness camp was held on various postal schemes.

Speaking at the event, Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Madurai Division, J.S. Jawahar Raj, said that he postal schemes were well-received by the public, including the India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) or doorstep banking enabled through postmen, who carried mobile phones and scanners for account verification, to the doorstep of customers.

As of now Aadhaar enrolment and updating were being carried out at 48 centres in select offices in the city. Apart from this, there was an upgrade on mail tracking system, he added.
