Long Time AIDS Service Agency Launches “Feed The Need” Campaign To Purchase A Food Pantry Support Van

The Alliance of AIDS Services – Carolina (Alliance), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization announces the “Feed the Need” campaign to support the use of a vehicle to extend the limited capacity of its current food pantry operation in the Raleigh, North Carolina office.

In 2018 alone, the Alliance pantry distributed 42.2 tons of food and provided healthy food options to more than 1,800 people. Without a transport vehicle the pantry is struggling to meet the needs of families and friends. The Alliance’s programs reach into seven (7) counties surrounding the greater Raleigh-Durham- Chapel Hill area.

Executive Director, Melissa Haithcox-Dennis, stated - “We are dedicated to serving the community through compassionate nonjudgmental support, education, and care for the prevention of HIV/AIDS/STIs. Good nutrition is a major part of the treatment program. Our food pantry is struggling to meet the needs for our clients to access nutritious food and personal hygiene products. Today’s, campaign will enable us to Feed the Need for the capacity of our ever-growing food pantry.”

The Alliance will acquire a new or gently used van to haul food and supplies from two area food banks to the Alliance’s administrative office in Raleigh. In addition, the van will be used to deliver food and toiletries as well as education and counseling services throughout the greater Triangle region.

Contributors to this campaign be acknowledged in all Alliance Social Media in thanks for their support to enhance the food pantry and educational efforts of the Alliance.
