India, who remained unbeaten till now in the World Cup, finally met their match in the World Cup. England played like a team possessed and ended India's unbeaten run in the tournament at Edgbaston. The hosts posted a formidable total of 337/7 and were backed by bowlers and livewire fielding to restrict India to 306/5. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli worked hard with a 138-run stand for the second wicket. Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya entertained with some lusty blows but after they both got out the task became too big in the end.
