SURAT: Three young men from the city are feared drowned in Ganga river near Rishikesh in Uttarakhand on Friday. Body of only Fenil Thakkar has been found. A search operation is on to locate Jenish alias Jimmy Patel and Krunal Kosadi who are missing, according to one of their friends.
The trio, a part of group of 15 friends from Ambaji Road - Vadi Faliya, who had gone on a chardham yatra to Uttarakhand 15 days ago, was scheduled to return on Tuesday.
They visited various destinations in Uttarakhand and went for river rafting near Lakshman Jhula on Rishikesh Badrinath Highway. "After river rafting, the boat dropped them in waters near the shore at Shivpuri. They spent a few minutes there in knee deep waters before they got pulled away from the shore," said Jigar Pandya, brother of one of the group member Pratik.

"They got pulled away by the gushing waters and are feared drowned. Pratik tried to pull Fenil, who was holding my brother's shoulder, towards the shore but could not save him. Pratik too began to drown but managed to come out from the waters because he knows how to swim," Pandya added.
Bharat, father of Fenil, in a video requested government's help to bring his son's body to the city. The family is likely to bring the body to the city in an ambulance. Fenil was managing one of the shops of family-owned business of farsan at Adajan. He belongs to the family that owns Surti Khaman.
