Megablock on Central Railway main line cancelled, Harbour block may delay services

MUMBAI: The Central Railway megablock planned between Matunga and Mulund on Down fast line from 10.30am to 3pm today has been cancelled. This will bring relief to commuters as trains will now ply as per Sunday timetable.
The Harbour line will, however, have a rail block between Vadala Road and Mankhurd station from 11.10am to 3.40pm. Special services will run between Panvel-Mankhurd-Panvel during the block period.Harbour line passengers are permitted to travel via Trans Harbour Line and Main Line from 10am to 4.30pm during block period.

“Due to these blocks, suburban trains are likely to be more crowded than usual,” said Central Railway chief spokesperson, Sunil Udasi.
On Western Railway, in order to carry out maintenance work of tracks, signals and overhead equipment, a six-hour jumbo block will be undertaken from 10am to 4pm in Vasai Yard. During the block, Up and Down Freight movement will be affected. All suburban trains will run on its scheduled time, said WR chief spokesperson, Ravinder Bhakar.
