Beware before speeding on Akota-Dandia Bazaar Road

Over-speeding vehicle drivers will be penalized on the spot
Vadodara: Start early, if you have to take the Akota-Dandia Bazaar Road to office or college from Monday morning. For, overspeeding on this stretch of road will attract stiff penalty as the traffic police has decided to launch its drive against over-speeding on this wide stretch.
A speed gun will be installed on this road which will capture images of over-speeding drivers on two-wheelers and cars.
“We have already done a demonstration drive and the speed gun is now ready to be used. We will begin the drive from Monday on Akota-Dandia Bazaar Road. Over-speeding vehicle drivers will be penalized on the spot. A six-member team has been formed to only focus on penalizing over-speeding drivers,” said Amita Vanani, ACP (traffic).

The speed gun, which is attached to a printer and also has a camera, will be placed near the bridge and detect over-speeding from a distance of 70 metres. Once it detects vehicles crossing the speed limit, it will click photographs of the driver and license plate of the errant vehicle. By the time the driver reaches Dandia Bazaar Crossroads, a challan will be automatically generated with the photographs and penalty will be collected on the spot by the dedicated police team focusing only on this drive.
The police team will keep changing its location and use the speed-gun in different areas of the city.
