Vadodara: Contractors held for shoddy work

VADODARA: Two contractors were arrested by the Warasia police on Friday for shoddy work they did on Harni Road. Dr Bhargav Patel had given an application to the police some days ago and complained against the contractors. Patel had told the police that he and his pregnant wife were travelling in a car.
The car suffered a jerk due to a pothole on the road near Vrindavan Township and it caused severe pain to Patel's wife in her stomach. Patel approached the cops and filed a complaint stating that the shoddy work done by the contractors caused trouble to his wife.
"We investigated the case and then filed a complaint against the contractors, Ashok Chaudhary and Rohan Chaudhary. They were arrested under IPC 107 and IPC 116 (3) and produced before a local court that granted them bail," said S S Anand, Waghodia police inspector.
Though citizens face lot of problems due to the shoddy work done by the contractors, this is one of the rare cases where a police complaint was filed against the contractors and they were arrested.
