AMARAVATI: Days after demolishing
Praja Vedika,
CRDA has set its focus on razing the former CM and TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu’s leased bungalow down, as the officials issued show-cause notice to the owner of
Lingamaneni Estates in which Naidu is residing, for construction of the building in violation of the rules. CRDA asked Lingamaneni Ramesh, the property owner, to remove the illegal structures in ground and first-floor of the building under section 115(1) within a week from the receipt of the notice.
The decision of CRDA authorities to issue notices to former CM’s bungalow has created ripples in the political circles as the opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) termed it vindictive approach of Jaganmohan Reddy.
Officials pasting notice on the main gate of Naidu's bungalow.A team of officials headed by CRDA assistant director Narendra Reddy visited Chandrababu Naidu’s bungalow early in the morning and made an attempt to handover the notices to the inmates. With security personnel refusing to grant them entry, the CRDA officials pasted the notice on the wall of the main entrance of the bungalow.
In the notice, CRDA said that their technical team during a recent inspection found the owner of survey no-250, 254, 272, 274 of Undavalli village, has raised many illegal structures without permission of the competent authorities. The owner built RCC structures in both ground and first floor of the building without any valid permission. The notice also pointed out the construction of a helipad, swimming pool and RCC rooms in the first floor and 10 temporary sheds in the premises. It said that no permission has been taken for such construction activity. It also said that many structures were raised within 100 metres of the Krishna river.
“All the above structures both RCC and temporary were raised without any statutory permissions. It is directed to remove all such illegal structures as per section 115(1) of CRDA Act within a week from the receipt of the notice,” the CRDA directed. It also asked the building owner to show cause as to why the charges leveled against him could be confirmed within a week. CRDA warned that it would be constrained to confirm the charges under section 115(3) in case no satisfactory explanation is received by the authorities before the stipulated deadline.
Chandrababu Naidu has been residing in the riverbank bungalow for the past four years since he shifted from Hyderabad. Several changes to the building were made as per the vaastu advises and personal requirements of then CM’s camp office.
Interestingly, CRDA had set its focus on the new structure in the bungalow without going into the legality of the old structure. With the Lingamaneni Estates owner contending that they have secured all permissions to construct the bungalow before 2012, the CRDA concentrated on the new structures raised in the bungalow after Naidu occupied. A helipad was also constructed in the premises to suit the needs of the then CM which CRDA said was a grave violation.
CRDA’s notice might leave Naidu without any option but to vacate the bungalow as TDP leaders too are of the view that it might not do well for the party’s image if Naidu continues to occupy an illegal bungalow.
