Mohali Dowry death: Hubby, mom-in-law booked

MOHALI: The police have booked the husband and inlaws of a woman on charges of dowry death on Thursday.
The case has been registered at Nayagaon police station following the complaint of the father of the victim. According to police, one of the accused, Goldie Singh and his mother Shyam Kaur have been booked by police. According to police, the victim Jaswinder Kaur was found dead in her bedroom as asuspected case of poisoning.
Her father Mohan Singh resident of Pinjore in his complaint has alleged that he married her daughter on February 23, 2019 to Goldie and within few days of her marriage her husband and his mother started torturing Jaswinder to get dowry. She narrated the matter to her parents but she was pacified and after having talks with Goldie she was sent back to her inlaws house.
On June 26, she was found dead in her bed and her inlaws claimed that she had committed suicide by consuming poison.
But Mohan Singh alleged that her husband and mother in law have killed her by poising her. Cases have been registered against Goldie and Shyam Kaur but they are yet to be arrested. Police said that the investigations were on and the arrests would be made soon. The cases will be registered under several sections of the Indian Penal Code.
Police said that they do intend to look the other way whem it comes to dowry related cases. They have dealt with all dowry realted cases seriously and intend to do so in the future too.
