Gujarat: 36% seats vacant in Diploma Engineering

AHMEDABAD: The Admission Committee for Professional Diploma Courses has declared the provision list for the diploma engineering seats. At the provisional state only a total of 24,269 or 36% seats have fallen vacant.
According to ACPDC officials there are 25706 seats in 31 government diploma colleges while another 1513 seats were there in five grant-in-aid colleges. The remaining 40,353 seats are in 144 self-financed colleges.
According to the ACPDC a total of 43,302 students have been included in the provisional list which has been declared by the ACPDC.
The officials said that Himani Akshay Trivedi has been top of the merit list with 96.16% marks. She has scored 292 out of 300 marks included for making the merit list.
The officials said that the last student in the merit list had 35.33% marks and has scored 85 marks out of 300. The officials also said that 25% of the seats have increased following the Economically Weaker Section quota which has been implemented from this year.
